At the time, it wasn’t clear if macOS, watchOS, or tvOS would also arrive on Friday – and as it turned out, they did not. WatchOS and tvOS still remain on beta 6, as of this afternoon.
Unless you have a reason to test applications on the upcoming Mac OS, it’s better to wait for the public release, or at least the public beta, due to bugs and performance issues that can occur when running a developer beta build. However, macOS Sierra promises some interesting updates that many can’t wait to get their hands on. For example, one of the most promising changes is that Siri is coming to the Mac for the first time. The assistant can replace many of Spotlight’s features – like helping you find a file, perhaps, or search through photos.
It can also help you interact with your Mac, like turning on or off your Wi-Fi, start FaceTime calls, set reminders, or adjust your volume. The Photos app has also been overhauled with new features that take advantage of computer vision to recognize the people, places and things in an album, then organize them into intelligent collections. It also curates your past photos into collections via a new tab called “Memories.” Messages on macOS Sierra is getting tweaked, too, with rich links for previewing web content, as on iOS, the ability to watch video clips in the app, and other features like iOS 10’s bigger emoji, ‘tapback’ options that let you respond to messages with emojis (e.g. Heart, Thumbs Up, Ha ha, and more). Safari’s big improvement in macOS Sierra is picture-in-picture for watching videos – something that’s already available on select iPads. Meanwhile, other applications like TextEdit, Pages, Mail, and Maps are getting Safari-like Tabs. You can read more about macOS Sierra in It’s unclear at this time what’s different between the prior beta and the one out now, but as we get closer to the public release, many of the tweaks are now bug fixes rather than major changes.
The latest beta builds are available in the Mac App Store, but you’ll need to be a member of the or an in order to download them.

The iOS includes a set of drawing tools for marking up images, adding sketches in the Notes app, and more. With beta 6, these tools have new features. A new pop-up window for each of the drawing instruments allows the user to choose how thick each line should be, and a slider controls color intensity. This change adds weight to the rumors that some of the 2018 iPhone models will have. No Group FaceTime Developers got access to beta 6.
At that time, it still had Group FaceTime. The decision to hold back the release was made just a few days ago, and this is the first public beta version without it. Apple hasn’t given a reason why it delayed this feature, but people who tested the beta version found it very unstable. It’s likely the company decided it could clean up the code before the release of iOS 12, which is expected next month. IOS 12 Public beta 6 isn’t the newest Anyone who wants to sign up for the can do so.
There’s no charge, and it brings early access to iOS (and macOS) versions. Apple recently said that have already signed up.
Aside from the removal of Apple’s group chat feature, this is essentially the same beta as developers began testing last week. Those who are part of the Apple Developer Program, and paid a $99 annual fee, don’t have to settle for the sixth beta. They can can. IOS 12 also includes Memoji, personalized and animated versions of emoji. The end of beta testing and the full release is, alongside the introduction of the models.
